In the East, Ayurveda and complementary systems have been available for ages; a similar shift is underway in the West as well. Many mainstream practitioners have switched to integrative medicine, functional medicine, osteopathy, and other holistic approaches to better serve their patients by integrating all aspects of healing. Today, the world is gearing towards a major shift, and growing awareness and desires to adopt a natural way of living have moved people across the globe.

At Vagmi, we follow basic principles of Ayurveda, herbs, lifestyle enhancement, prakriti and vikruti analysis, food modifications, plant-based chikitsa (treatment), and bhav shuddhi (purification of the mind of negative emotions) in our treatment modality.
All Ayurvedic treatments are predominantly based on dosha analysis. Doshas are fundamental energies or constitutions that make up our physical, mental, and emotional functions. The three doshas are Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. They are the synthesis of various elemental combinations, such as Earth, water, fire, air, and space. When Doshas are balanced, they are the prakriti nature; when out of balance, they become the vikruti(disorder/disorder).
Food plays a significant role in causing vikruti(imbalance) in the system. Virrudha Ahaar means eating against your natural constitution can cause greater upheaval, which manifests as disease (roga) in the system. Food that is easy to digest, and that carries sattvik (pure) qualities, and love is the best; vegetarian food has that innate sense of warmth and balance, which can rightly serve the purpose. Here, a lot needs to be learned according to our conditioning, nature, and other attributes.
Our offerings include mild seasonal panchkarma under an expert’s guidance, as well as basic yogic cleansing to support the system’s cleansing. Mental detox needs more detailed work as it’s internal and personalised.
It is responsible for all the movements and activation of other layers in a being. If prana is not channeled properly, a person would feel lethargic and dull all the time. We all need surplus prana. to remain restorative and balanced. Manas shuddhi and prana shuddhi are achieved through the synthesis of simple lifestyle additions, guidance, and internal work.
Bio medicines are readily available as a means to quick relief from any disease, but their impact isn’t always beneficial in the long run. Some carry side effects, some are habit-forming, but the real concern is the easy availability and the preference that puts this stream much further ahead of the others. In the long run, it not only impairs the body’s natural healing capacity but also depletes the natural system.
Just like pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals are a growing trend hitting the shelves. The problem isn’t the commercialisation of the plant system; rather, its misuse and quality concerns. The traditional system never introduced medicine culture; it simply treated the body with the right knowledge, food, and values. Understanding the proper use and benefits of various herbs is essential; otherwise, it can impair the natural healing system.
